The New Jersey Greyhound Adoption Program began in the Fall of 1993. Our impetus then as it is now, was to educate the public on the plight of the racing greyhound and to provide loving foster homes for rescued greyhounds on their way to an adoptive home. It began with two volunteers and quickly grew to over 30 dedicated people. We have saved over 2,500 greyhounds since our beginning. We pride ourselves on the care we take in getting to know our foster dogs, the prospective adoptive home, the pairing of a greyhound to their forever home. We are available post adoption to help with any concerns and once a greyhound comes in to the NJGAP family, it has a home for life.
